My Beautiful son Ben was born on the 9th of january 2001, he was diagnosed with leukaemia aged just 2 and a half, he underwent 3 years of chemotherapy before going in to remission, but after only 18 months Ben relapsed and we were told that his only chance of survival was to have a bone marrow transplant. Ben had his transplant on the 30th of october 2008, the whole family had very high expectations of the transplant being like some miracle cure, but sadly that was not the case and after the transplant Ben became very unwell, only managing to spend a few scattered nights at home and the rest of the time in hospital. Ben became so unwell that at the begining of july he was taken in to intensive care and placed on a ventilator. On several occasions we were taken aside and told that Ben was not going to make it, but being the little fighter that he was Ben would bounce back and prove the doctors wrong. Eventually on the 28th of August we were told for the last time that Ben was losing his long battle, his organs were failing one by one. I climbed in to Bens hospital bed beside him and i held him in my arms, i sang "you are my sunshine" all night long and my precious little boy passed away at 9am on the 29th of august 2009 age 8 and a half. That was the day my heart got ripped out and broken beyond repair. Love you always Ben xxx
